Demos From The Vault #11 Unembalmed | Morgued | Pitbul | Summoner | Chestcrush

It’s Sunday again and you know exactly what that means! This time we’re blasting yet another dose of Death Metal with some Hardcore nuances as refreshment. Listen through these demos to make sure that you have all the bands on your scope before any of those releases might be put out by your favorite label.

Unembalmed – The Stench Of Suffering (Death Metal – USA)

The Americans Unembalmed deliver on their The Stench Of Suffering Demo rumbling Death Metal, which can be assigned especially in the riffing of the old Swedish school. In addition, there are nauseating growls and ultra-aggressive drumming packed in raw sound quality with perfect demo charm. In contrast to the fast parts, there are also some heavy stomping parts, where especially the metal melodies can cause a furor and make the record altogether a very exciting debut. If you are fan of rotten Death Metal Demos you definitly should give Unembalmed a spin.

Morgued – Demo 2020 (Death Metal – USA)

With Morgued you get to deal with sinister Old School Death Metal tunes, which sometimes sound melodic, sometimes more primitively brutal but can ignite throughout. Unfortunately, the demo with 3 songs is much too short, but it already makes you want more. Somehow groovy, thanks to the guitar playing, but also provided with breaks and mosh parts, to which you would like to beat around. All in all a strong debut with interesting instrumentals especially in terms of drumming and even the right pinch of aggression. Whoever likes Metal nasty, raw and hard is completely served here, just unfortunately not for as long as you might want to.

Pitbul – Demo 2020 (Hardcore Punk – USA)

When it comes to crunchy Hardcore Punk that hits you straight in the face with furious bursts, I can currently recommend the Demo by Pitbul from Seattle. The songs presented are infused with extremly aggressive drumming and carried by distinctive sawing riffing that is always peppered with groovy melodies. The vocals are in no way inferior to this and bark around as hard as a rabid dog can do. Although the sound itself seems quite primitive, the tracks unfold well and make the heart of every fan of pogo, stomp and mosh beat faster. In terms of Punk, you can’t go wrong with this band and should definitely listen to the record and convince yourself of the frustrated thrashing.

Summoner – Demo 2021 (Brutal Death Metal – USA)

Actually, Brutal Death Metal is not really my construction site, but what Summoner launched on their 2021 Demo then really blew me away. Incredibly fast blast beats, slightly dissonant melodies and fearsome growls were thrown into a pot and stirred here. The result can be seen and fires you five inimitably bitterly evil tracks, in which not only the instrumentals can show a surprisingly good quality, but especially the songwriting can score points, which includes not only oppressive beating but also ingenious breaks and mosh parts and makes the sound generally very versatile, without drowning out the dull beating. So if you like the more brutal brother of Death Metal anyway and also identify with distinctive guitars, you should give Summoner a run through as soon as possible and convince yourself of the insanely hard tunes. Maybe one of the hardest demos that early 2021 has to offer.

Chestcrush – Demo (Death Metal/Sludge – UK)

The Brits of Chestcrush are so variable and hard to categorize, especially considering a demo, as the sounds range from cold Black Metal to massively nasty Death Metal to barrel-chested sludge and seem so seamlessly blended as if the combo has been around for years. This colossal steamroller is not for the faint-hearted, as it is as gritty as it is brutal. The songwriting should be particularly positively highlighted, which allows the immensely well-played instruments to grow into captivating tracks that gradually smash themselves into the auditory canals and which, once addicted, you do not want to escape. Thanks to the merciless drums and the guttural vocals this demo stands quite on top for me personally and belongs with high certainty to the best debuts that I have come across lately. If you like outstanding deadly dark Extreme Metal, you shouldn’t miss this chunk!
