In a world full of metallic hardcore bands that all start to sound the same, somewhere in Germany, or should I say in Emsdetten, there are five guys still pushing for a proper mix of Hardcore and Death Metal. Of course, I’m talking about No Shelter. The Metal Punks from North Rhine-Westphalia are back with a new album! Remission/Resolve will be released on July 25th via This Charming Man Records.

The album opens mercilessly, each track feels like a straight punch in the gut. From the crushing riffs of “Voice of Madness” to the raw urgency of “Schizophrenia“, No Shelter proves they still know how to write ear worming hooks in the middle of absolute chaos. Yet it’s not just relentless brutality: on “Doomed” they slow down just enough to lock into a groove that almost makes you forget you’re headbanging to something so filthy.

Then they go surprisingly darker. “Pale Eyes” and “No Hope – No Life” blend their hardcore/death formula with bleak atmospheres that flirt with black metal’s cold edge. Somehow, they never lose their signature pissed off energy. In fact, I’d argue this is their heaviest, most mature material yet. The mix of fury and melody, of speed and space, shows a band growing without betraying its roots.

In these times of general bullshit and frustration, Remission/Resolve feels like the perfect soundtrack for rage and resistance. So, if you are angry at the world or maybe just your neighbours, spin this album loud. You won’t find mercy here, but you’ll find something far better… pure, unapologetic resolve.

I have to say, Remission/Resolve hits like a freight train from first blast beat to final chord. No Shelter clearly took all the best parts of 90s Swedish Death Metal, the legendary HM 2 chainsaw tone, thunderous drums and injected a crust-tinged Hardcore attitude that feels both nostalgic and fresh. For fans of Trap Them, Nails or Entombed, this record will not disappoint.
