Slowly but surely I get the feeling that Church Road Records is digging in my myspace history to bring back acts or musicians that I seem to have forgotten. Back in the days myspace.com was a great source of finding new artists all around the world. Still In Love pull on those nostalgic heartstrings in the best ways. Containing members of Dead Swans (Nick Worthington, vocals), Throats (Mark Ringrose, guitar), Brutality Will Prevail (Marc Richards, drums), Last Witness (Adrian Cecil, bass) and Ex-Bring Me The Horizon (Curtis Ward, guitar), Still In Love are a big billboard for British Hardcore.

The excellent thing, among many other aspects is, that you get exactly what you would expect with such talents assembled. Even the guest-spot goes way back to the early 2000s. “Preserve & Cherish” features ArchitectsSam Carter on vocals and is the wet dream of everyone discovering Hardcore around the millennium. All the signs of greatness are here: melody, honesty and savagery. Sam Carter is just the cherry on top of this rough cake.

The closing duo of “You Have To Let It Go” and “Pillar Of Strength” give Recovery Language a nice twist. “You Have To Let It Go” somehow reminds me of melancholic This is Hell around Misfortunes with the nice addition of clean vocals. “Pillar of Strength” is truly a beast guarding the exit. Over 5 minutes of epic Hardcore-conclusion: blasting, soaring and moshing.

Recovery Language feels like a love letter to metallic Hardcore. Every song on this record stirs the urge to push things and people forward. It has got a beefy sound, the right amount of variety to keep you on your toes and its short enough to prevent total exhaustion from trashing your living room.
