United forces against the usual suspects. Lhuma and TRËMØRE from the east of Germany are here to quick-charge your anger-resources with the help of Screamo and Powerviolence. Amor & Psychose may be the title of this split, but thematically I would call it despair and anger.

Lhuma are no strangers to our blog. Their 2021 EP Springer was a furious ride and their side of this split continues it in tone and fury: humanity at its core is at stake (“Hier fehlt es an Menschlichkeit“). Lhuma haven’t lost an inch of their passion over the last four years. “Müde Arme“ or the closer “Teiler” could have been a good fit for Touché Amoré around their Parting the sea-phase and every song in between keeps this level or energy and enthusiasm.

So you think Germany is nice and everything is honkey dory? TRËMØRE don’t think so. Their half of the split is filled with spite for their surroundings and calls to action: everything from superficial social-media (“Instawahn“) to left-activism (“Quartzhandschuhe”) to femicide (“Mord ist sein Hobby“). With the power of a brick and the sensibility of a face grinding on “Rollsplitt” (a very nice and fitting German word) TRËMØRE imprint their message on the minds of their listeners.

Amor & Psychose is a 25 minute-long thinking head, a clenched fist in the air and a hand above the heart. Lhuma and TRËMØRE serve as a big reminder of how kinetic music can be when the right people with the best intentions are bringing them to your ears.
